Why Read On?

This is the only blog where you are going to get real information about pre-teen and early teen advice about middle school and how to stay on top. And it's not coming from a psychologist or nice middle-aged woman. It's coming from one of those pretty, popular girls you hate so much. I'm here to give it to you strait (but very nicely).

A Dress Code?!

Fashion is a big thing in middle school. We are all trying out new styles and deciding who were going to be. Some people are trendsetters (like me) and what we wear everyone else is wearing the next week, but my that time its over and we are wearing new fashions. The way to stay on top of fashion is to never let them catch up.
Anyway, I was informed today that my school got a dresscode. I'm so like freakin upset right now it's just not even funny. I actually started crying. It was not pretty. Who does my school think they are?! Any way here are the general rules:

-shorts and skirts must touch the knee (ikr?! crazy!)

- no cleavage (ugh!)

-no leggings, jeggings, or skinny jeans becuase they "atrract attention to certain areas" (oh puh leez!, watevs, skinnies are out for 2011 anyway)

-clothing cannot have hoods (um wow this limits me for no good reason.)

-no high heels (this one was devistating!)

- no tank tops (ggggrr!)

So there you have it. There's more, but I listed the worst. Are these people trying to make my life difficult. I'm happy in some (very small) ways though. First, I have a chance to prove to people that I have the skills to look good even in these desparate times. Second, most kids are going to wear sweatpants or jeans everyday now so I'll look twice as good.
You're always going to have to overcome something. It's not easy being likeable. But you just have to push through and pray that you will come out on top. (it usually happens for me )

Love always, Jen with a Heart
